Friday Flashback

This is a very special Friday Flashback. Tomorrow is my Grandpa Charlie's birthday. He passed away May of 2009. My mom is still very upset about this loss. He was the most wonderful man that you could ever meet. He would give the shirt off of his back for you. He helped raise my mom and mom tells me living with Grandpa Charlie for 20 some years she can't ever remember a time that he got mad at her or ever made her feel like he didn't love her. Mom still cries a lot thinking about him no longer being here but she is trying to move on with life because that is what Grandpa would have wanted. This picture is so special to mom because Grandpa was staying at our house the weekend that they picked up their new foster dog...ME! This is a picture of me meeting Grandpa Charlie for the very first time. He used to call me his "little blue eyes" because he had a hard time saying my name but I didn't mind being his little blue eyes. He always asked mom about me when she would call to check in on him since he lived 3 hours away.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Charlie we love and miss you SO very much.

Thursday if Frisbee time

Before we get this weeks Frisbee stuff, I want to wish my mommy a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! She had a rough start this morning. Our neighbors decided to be loud and carry on at 3:34 AM! I had to growl and that got mom and dad up and they couldn't believe next door people were having a party on a Thursday at 3 am. So after that all calmed down, mom let us out to potty before she left for work and when I came back up the stairs I went all the way around the grill and kept watching the corner of the deck. Mom wondered what I was doing and peeked out and saw a cat on the deck rail. Mom kind of giggled at me and said I was a big chicken. But then when she looked at me, she saw blood running down my ear. Now who is laughing and the chicken mom? That mean cat got me. Ripped my ear right on the end. Score Cat 1 - Sagira 0. Next time cat...you just look out! I am doing much better. Dad got up and cleaned my ear all up and took good care of me so mom could get to work on time.

We have playdates every Thursday now. They are a lot of fun but I don't like to play Frisbee outside of my back yard so I go usually just to play with the puppies while dad takes photos.

I had a lot of fun playing with Bon Bon last week. She is Matt's little 9 week old mini Aussie.

This is my friend Bon Bon learning how to play Frisbee with her daddy Matt. The frisbee is bigger than she is. haha

Trial day 2

So the trial is finally over. What two long days. These were the longest trials we have attended. Starting at 8 am and not ending until around 6 (or later). But I pulled through and started out the day with a bang. My first run was my Novice Fast run. The send bonus this time was from the tunnel to the teeter....piece of cake. Got my Q and earned 2nd place. This also means I have another new title with AKC. I am now known as Sagira, NF, OA and OAJ...sounds pretty fancy huh? I also already have one leg of towards my excellent standard title as well.

Here is video of my Fast run:

My second run today was Open JWW. This run was just for fun since I already earned my title yesterday and couldn't move up since the trial was just an Novice/Open trial. Dad wanted to work on my speed in the weave poles and I did better with them today, but dad got lost out there and made me go off course. All his fault, you will even hear me telling him about it at one point during the run.

The judge had to rush off to catch a thing that flies in the sky so I wasn't able to get a photo with him for my new title. Oh well...always next time.

I also want to wish a very special congrats to my friends Razzle and her mom and Nicole and Zoey on their very first ever Q today.

and a very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to June's big brother Blue. He is turning 13 today. I hope this is the best day ever for you Blue. Lots of love from my pack to yours.

Day 1 of the Trial

Wow, what a long day. We arrived around 7:30 in the morning for the trial at our training club and I don't think the last dog ran until around 7:30 that night. Mom was nice and took me home for a few hours in between though.

My first run of the morning was Novice Fast. I didn't do very well in this run. As part of the bonus points you had to go into the weave poles but my dad had to stay 5 feet back from me and it was a weird angle so I didn't want to do the last weave pole and didn't earn enough points to get a Q and also ran over on time. Here is a video, but this is isn't my best work.

My second run of the day was my Open Jumpers With Weaves (JWW). I did a great job on this run. My run was perfect but I did run 2 seconds over course time but since it was open I still got my Q and 2nd place, not too shabby. This means that I now have my OAJ title as well. Yipee! Here is the video of this run.

Here is a photo of me and my dad with the judge from earning my OAJ title. He told dad we had a great run.

Friday Flashback

Another week has gone by. Today is a photo of me and my brother Milo. He was the last of us to get adopted and came to my house for the day so mom could take him to an adoption event. Mom is now kicking herself wishing she would have adopted more than one of us. But that wouldn't make me as special as I am.

I have a trial tomorrow and Sunday, wish me luck. I am up for possibly earning two more titles this weekend. Yipee!

I am the cute one in pink and Milo is in blue

Paw It Forward

So as you probably read yesterday I received two envelopes on the same day. The second present was from Daisy Mae. She let me join in the Paw It Forward game she was playing.

Here is where the video SHOULD be...but my dad got a new flashy beast and well...we took the video and then he was busy pushing buttons to learn how to use it and next thing we know no more video. He deleted it. I am SO sorry Daisy Mae but the treats were yummy and gone in one night because I shared with my brothers and sister. Daisy Mae sent me some yummy bone shaped cookies, a bag of muffins and some pull toys which I have been playing tug of war with Harley.

Thanks for playing Paw it Forward with me Daisy Mae!

Now comes the fun part of Paw it Forward!
Now we get to send presents to 3 friends!

The rules of my paw it forward are as follows:
1. comment on my paw it forward post saying you want to play.
2. when you get your package, you must blog about your presents.
3. ask 3 of your friends to play paw it forward with you!

So... who wants to play Paw it Forward?!

Mail for me?

Wow, dad carried in the mail and I had not one but two envelopes on the same day.
The first mail was from Miss Kylie
Kylie had a contest and I was one of the lucky winners. She sent me a nice travel water bowl and a cute letter. Thanks Kylie!

Check back tomorrow to see who else sent me mail and what fun I'm involved in.

Frisbee time

So dad and Matt have decided to set up a Thursday evening Frisbee play group to help work on Frisbee competition stuff. We went last Thursday and had a good turn out.

Photobucket

Matt came with his three, Buddy, Bella and Bazooka (9 week old mini Aussie puppy).

Bella

Photobucket

Kim came with her Aussies, Brama, Mojo (the one daddy loves) and her new puppy Lotus.

Saying hi to Lotus

Photobucket

Isn't she cute?

Photobucket

Kim's friend who breeds the Aussies came as well with her pup Gator. He was twice the size of Lotus, he is 4 months old and almost as big as me. He had a lot of "junk in his trunk" if you know what I mean. haha.

This is Mary with Gator (blue merle behind her) and Lotus black tri to the side of her, look at the size difference...crazy

Photobucket

Larry also came and brought his border collie Sketch. Sketch is already ready for competition. Matt wanted to borrow her for a trial already. Go Sketch!

Photobucket

These are the two Aussies that are causing dad to have major Aussie puppy fever. Mojo is a standard and Bella is a mini. Dad keeps sending mom photos of baby Aussies every day. She is trying very hard to say no. Mom really wants a Weim puppy.

Photobucket

You know how I love to play in the hose? Well, the fields had really big hoses. Lotus and I went over to check them out.

Photobucket

Well, I just figured out today is Thursday and it almost Frisbee playdate time, gotta go.

Weimaraner Wednesday

Time to get a pedicure again? I hate this...

Photobucket

Ahh...that feels much better

Father's Day

Trying to catch up on some of my older photos that I never got around to posting. This one is about Father's Day...I know, I know, shame on me for taking over a month.

Mom and dad invited their mom and dads over for a Father's Day cookout. Here is a photo of me with my mom's dad and my dad's mom (confused yet?)

Photobucket

Me and Starr keeping Grandpa Sunny company

Photobucket

Later cousin Sean stopped by, he is one of my favorites. I always smile real big when he comes in the room because he gets down the floor and plays with me.

Photobucket

My Grandma got a new camera and wanted to get some water shots of me. So outside we went to play in the hose (one of my favorite things to do). So I was showing off for them.

Photobucket

Grandpa Sunny was helping mom and dad change their ceiling fans around. Mystic was busy helping.

Pheww...it is hard work entertaining people

New Food

So I stopped eating my Evo food. Mom and dad researched and found that Orijen makes a really good food as well. So off to the store we went and got a new bag of food. The bag is almost as big as I am. I have been eating this better.

Photobucket

I have also been out of my crate since before vacation. I tore up some of moms old photos today. She was sad, I didn't mean to make her sad, but boy it sure was fun ripping up paper. :)

Picnics

Wow, what a great day yesterday. Two picnics in one day. We started out at our training clubs picnic. Had yummy food, got to run some agility and watch other pups do their thing in earth dog and rally. Will post pics of this picnic later on.

Second picnic was CHA Animal Shelter's, Picnic with the Pups. There were a ton of vendors, rescue groups, food, etc.

Here is the event as we walked up to it

Meet June!

One of my pals from the Weimaraner forum just added a blog. Please be sure to stop by and give a nice blog world welcome to June. She loves hot dogs and I am sure you will love reading about her hot dog adventures.

Mom says we have a busy day planned for today. Our training club is holding their annual club picnic. (June, you know there are going to be hot dogs there). After that picnic we are heading to CHA Animal Shelter for their Picnic with the Pups. It is a lot of fun, bands play, beer is served (mom and dad don't drink though) and they raise a lot of money for the shelter dog and cats. Pictures to come soon.

On a more serious note, my pal Ripley's mom had a heart attack this past Saturday. She drove 20 miles knowing she was having a heart attack just to get Ripley into the arms of her friend so Ripley wouldn't have to go to a shelter. Talk about love...Ripley's momma sure does love him. His mom is doing better and is actually getting out of the hospital. But would love if you all could send some good thoughts her way and hope she continues to do better. We love ya Meredith!

It is hard being a model

Remember in my previous blog I told you we went to the dog beach and I climbed up on the rock all by myself? Dad rushed over and started a photo shoot with me of course and I was posing for him and living it up. Mom thought it was so funny and luckily had her little cheap point and shoot. This is what mom caught...my sister Starr walking away wanting no part of the photo shoot.

Photobucket

I'm her little super model. Stay tuned for dad's pictures from the good camera.

Mars Petcare Adoption Event

Saturday we went to the Mars Petcare plant where they make the food. They were having a big adoption event and gave out tons of goodies. When we left they were already up to 15 animals being adopted. That is a great number for one day in my opinion.

The event, see that big cat, I kept barking at it every time it walked by me and waved. haha

Photobucket

Mom was excited she got collar and leash SETS for only a buck from the Greyhound rescue

Photobucket

Photobucket

They had pools for us to swim in

Photobucket

All my free stuff, moms arms were tired of carrying all this to the car it was heavy!

Photobucket

Thanks Mars for helping find homeless dogs and cats new homes this weekend.
