Frisbee night!

Frisbee night has been moved to Tuesdays now. Here are photos and videos from last weeks play group. Only ones that showed up were us and Matt and his crew (Bazooka, Bella and Buddy).

Starr got to come with us

Here is another video of me and Bazooka playing around

Here is a video of Bella doing her thing (they are very short clips)

Bazooka taking her turn. It just amazes mom that she is already so good at playing and is so young. She just has that drive

Here is a video of my sister Starr trying to play. She just never learned how to play and it is funny to watch her try now at 10 years old.

Well...gotta zoom, time to go play Frisbee tonight.

Please help Harley!

My mom's rescue just took in a new pup, her name is Harley. She is a blue Weimaraner puppy that was dropped off at the vet's office after she was struck by a car. The owners couldn't afford surgery so the vet asked if we would take her in to save her from being euthanized. Our rescue group took sweet Harley in. The vet is only making us pay 1/2 the surgery fee, but that is still $2,000 after the discount. So far we have raised around $350 to help cover the expenses of her surgery. Would you consider helping Harley out? Even if it is just a dollar (less than a cup of coffee). It all adds up in the end.

Videos, photos and our donation widget can be found on Harley's blog at: HARLEY

Harley, Louisville Weimaraner Rescue and I thank you for considering helping this sweet girl out.

Dog Days of Summer

Friday night they had an event called "Dog Days of Summer". So mom and dad packed me and Starr in the car and off we went. It was a lot of fun. When we first got there they were giving away free hot dogs (did you hear that June? FREE HOT DOGS...you ready to move here yet?)

Dad took a photo for you June, but then realized when he got home that all you can see is the bun (but we tried and thought of you).

Photobucket

We walked around the event, it was several blocks long and neat things to see everywhere you went.

Photobucket

We even ran into Ronald McDonald. I asked him for his pawtograph

Photobucket

People were making weird things with their hands. Starr tried to stick her nose in to help but dad told her no can do.

Photobucket

We also had to stop and let our adoring fans give us some petting

Heading to the lake

This past week mom and dad were on vacation again. They said it felt nice to do a whole lot of nothing for a week. On Thursday we got to all pack up in the car and head to Lake Erie to visit Grandma and Grandpa.

Ready to go Starr and Harley?

Photobucket

How about I sit here on the floor since you are all hogging all the space and dog beds???

Photobucket

Isn't this fun Samick?

Photobucket

Ahh...I can smell the fish now...

Agility on TV

I am so into agility that I chill out on my new dog bed and watch it on TV (sorry the camera phone isn't very clear on what is on TV, but it was 4H kids running agility) and I was really into watching them on TV to fine tune my skills. BOL

Dog bed

At the trial this weekend we crated right next to one of the vendors who was selling dog beds and crate pads. Mom can now sell these things after hearing them talk about them so much. But what impressed mom the most was how many customers came over and talked to the owners and told them they bought beds from them about 2-3 years ago and they are still in excellent shape and were just buying a new cover for the bed. The beds are super fluffy and soft and are also water and odor proof. You just wash the covers and never have to buy another dog bed again...(see I told you we could sell them now, haha). Anyway...the guy told mom that since dad was doing photography (vendor) at the trial he would give us $5 off each bed we bought. So mom decided to buy a BIG dog bed for the seniors in the house (Samick, Harley and Starr) and bought me a crate pad for when I am at trials. Mom unpacked the dog bed in the living room and guess who was first to give it a try? ME! And guess who hasn't been off of it since...ME! I will not even let Samick, Starr or Harley see how nice this bed is...it is MINE! MINE! MINE!

Guess who!

Guess who we met yesterday at the trial. Do you remember my friend Bazooka? Well we were walking around the trial and saw a very cute Aussie puppy and come to find out it is from the same litter as my pal Bazooka. This is her sister Bling, isn't she cute???

Day 2 of the Trial is now over

Well, the second day is over (much earlier than yesterday). Todays runs were just as good as yesterdays. My first run was Excellent A Standard. I started off kind of shaky at first and shut down a bit when dad had to call me off, but then once I went into the chute I started having fun again. Then it came time to get on the table and there were people playing basketball in the court across and that scared me a bit so I got a refusal on the table. The rest of my run was just beautiful though. I was getting past things that some of the really really good dogs were messing up. Mom and dad were very proud of me even though I didn't get a Q.

Here is the video of my standard run (you can hear my instructor talking in the back ground saying good girl, etc. haha):

My second run was my Excellent A Jumpers With Weaves (JWW). I was a bit slow in my weave poles but mom and dad said that is perfectly fine with them because most of the dogs were missing the entrance to the weaves since it was such a tight spot from the jump. I was the only one in EX A my height to even get a Q so I earned 1st place as well. When we were checking the results some lady insulted us as we were standing there. She was like oh only one dog Q'd and look how slow it was. Well lady...all I have to say it that I might be slow, but at least I got the Q didn't I????

Here is the video of my JWW run:

Mickey update: They found out that he was on a medication that was depleting his system and draining his bone marrow. They are taking him off of it and as long as his bloodwork comes back okay he will get to go home tonight. Thank you all for your thoughts and good vibes.

Samick update: He is still hanging in there. Not acting as if he is in any pain, no more blood has been seen. He is eating as long as we are mixing in more and more canned food.

Check back tomorrow to see who I got to meet at the trial today...

Trial day 1

Well, I had another big trial this weekend. This was my first full weekend in all Excellent level. My first run was Excellent Standard. I ran really well for dad, maybe a little too good because when he didn't turn his shoulder just the right way I went around one of the jumps and got a refusal. But it is okay. Mom and dad were both very happy with my performance. Even my teacher Stacie told dad that he did a great job running me.

Here is the video of my run from that. Sorry so blurry the lights inside were not good at all. (mom loves how I always find her when I get done to see if she is happy (which she is always)

My second run was Excellent Jumpers With Weaves (JWW). I did awesome during this run as well. My weaves were a bit slower than dad would like but I still pulled through and got a Q and 1st place. I was the only one in my jump height in Excellent A to even get a Q so mom and dad were very happy with me. I got lots of loving, cheese and some salmon treats (those are my favorite).

Here is the video from my JWW run.

I now have one leg torwards my title on both my Standard and JWW. Two more to go and I will have my excellent titles. Not to bad considering this is just my 4th/5th trial.

Now on to the sad news...my classmate Mickey was supposed to be at the trial today. We found out that Mickey is in ICU. They can't figure out what is wrong with him. He had a temperature of 106, vomiting, just not being his normal self. His blood work is all coming back abnormal on the low end of the scales. They put him on some antibiotics and are doing more blood work this evening. If the antibiotics are not working after this test they are going to be doing a bone marrow test and calling in an oncologist. Please send any purs, barks, good vibes, prayers, etc. to Mickey and his family. They are just worried sick (and so are we).

Update and Picking your brain

Sagira's mom here...

Samick update: Samick is doing better. We have been checking Samick's urine and haven seen anymore blood, so that is good news. He has been eating about the same for us and sleeping a bit more than he normally does, but I imagine he is tired and this is taking a tole on his body. Samick and Harley got a bath this morning so they will smell all nice when we visit Grandma and Grandpa. Sagira has been a great sister and I find her laying with Samick more than she normally does. I even found Starr cuddled up with him this morning. We wanted to thank you all for all the wonderful comments, thoughts and emails about Samick and appreciate all you have done for us to help us make it thought this difficult time.

Sagira's 3rd birthday is coming up on November 1st. We had a wonderful PARTY for her last year. I would like to have another birthday party for her again this year but I am fresh out of ideas. I don't want to repeat what we did last year (see link) and need some new fun and easy games to play. Any suggestions???

Frisbee night is tonight as well. Should be fun.

300th post

Wow...where does the time go? This is my 300th post.

I wish I could say my 300th post is full of fun and good news, but it isn't. Tonight mom and dad were faced with a hard reality. Samick is really sick. We don't know how much longer we will have him with us. Tonight we noticed drips of blood on our floors. Samick is now bleeding a little as he pees. This is to be expected and part of the course since he has a mass in his urinary bladder. Samick is also starting to sleep a lot more. Momma cried a lot tonight. I tried to sit by her to tell her it was going to be okay. We are just enjoying as much time as we can with our brother.

Please send good thoughts to my family as we try to cope with what is going on with my brother Samick. He is a good boy and mom keeps saying she can't sit by and watch him suffer and just wants to know when is the right time to help Samick out. She doesn't want to be selfish and also doesn't want to rush it...such a hard decision to make.

GUESS WHO!

Mom was SO excited yesterday when she opened her email. She had an update on one of our previous fosters. Do you guys remember HAILEY (now Christmas)? Mom went and picked her up from a kill shelter in Hillsboro, Ohio.

Well Christmas has the best life now and here she is with her new family. Jenny (her mom), her sisters Emmy, Heaven and kitty sister Spirit.

We are so very happy for her and hope to maybe set up a play date soon.

VET

AACKK! So I thought it would be fun going bye bye the other night but they ended up taking us to the V-E-T. Starr, my kitty sister Akira and I all got to go. I went just to give Starr and Akira support. Starr had to go to get her Rabies shot and some other vaccines. She weighed in at 85.6 pounds. She is up a pound from last time. Mom thinks it is because Samick isn't eating his food very well and Starr is sneaking in extra kibble.

Photobucket

Hey...where are you taking my sister???

Photobucket

Akira had to go because she is losing some of her fur on her back and tail areas. Mom about fell over when the VET told mom what was causing it. He told her Akira has fleas. What?!?!? We haven't had fleas in years and when we do get them mom is always the first one to know because they like to bite her. Mom told the VET she was shocked because none of the rest of us are even scratching at all. Mom thought Akira had some sort of allergy and has been giving her Benadryl. Well no wonder that didn't help, huh? So off we went to the store to get some medicine to put on our shoulder blades.

Photobucket

Mom also talked to the VET about Samick. Samick is getting worse and pretty much not wanting to eat anymore. He will eat his kibble only if we put moist food or gravy on it, which we have been doing just to try to keep him from losing anymore weight, he is getting so thin. We discussed things with the doctor and he is in agreement with what we are doing. He told us that when we feel Samick's quality of life is no longer there that we need to contact him. Right now Samick has his days and can't hold his urine for very long anymore and makes messes, but that is okay, that is what they make plastic for and we will just keep cleaning them up and telling him that he is okay. He still has a sparkle in his eye and it isn't his time yet.

Moving on up

So after 4 tries in my agility level 5 class, I finally got moved up to level 6. Mom is kind of sad about this though. The class doesn't start until later in the evening and she will not be able to go with me and dad anymore. She has to go to bed early because she gets up super early.

Yesterday was a fun day out. Dad did another photo shoot for some people. I got to tag along and guess who was one of the subjects..... my pal Jura! (he is the Red Gorden Setter that I posted a video of earlier). We had a lot of fun playing in the fountain and running up to my dad while he was trying to take photos. haha.

I can't wait for dad to get some of the photos edited so that I can share them with you.

I also got to go shopping for my Paw It Forward friend. I can't wait to get the package ready to mail out. I hope they like what I picked out for them.

Woofstock

Yesterday mom's rescue group, set up a booth at Woofstock. Starr and I got to help mom out at the event. It was a lot of fun and was a fundraiser for one of the local groups around here. Mom sold bunches of stuff at the booth and might even have a few people interested in adopting a Weimaraner of their own.
