We went to an event called Barkin for Batten. This is a great event and I really wish they would get a better turn out. This is their 2nd year and it is for such a great cause.
This is the wonderful lady who puts the walk together
Two of the children who have Batten's disease
Some of the vendors
Great raffles and silent auctions. We were the high bidder on the Petsmart basket this year, had a $75 Gift card and a really cool lamb stuffie that Bokeh and I have already started to destroy. BHAA HAA lamb!
Registration table
Our friend Maggie and her mom were there as well
Maggie is a great therapy dog so she went to visit the kids and they really liked that
Our training club was there doing obedience and agility demos. Mom did Bokeh in obedience and he made her look silly. BOL.
Check back tomorrow for more fun pics from the event
I've never heard of Batten's disease before, will have to google it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day was had by all for a great cause. Hope the event raised lots of green papers, even if there wasn't a bigger turnout.
That sure is a great event for a great cause!!!
ReplyDeleteI has never heard of dis disease either but anytime you gets to raise awareness and green papers fur somebody who is in need, it is a good day!

Hi Sagira:
ReplyDeleteI love hearing how your foster people loved you so much they decided to adopt you, and that you are so active!
Thanks so much for asking about SuperLevi. Our shirts are in sizes S-XL and they run on the bigger side (they are similar to Men's American Apparel sizes). The $33 donation includes a T-shirt, dog bandana, packaging/shipping, and an invitation to the 'virtual walk'. As we're walking here in Chicago, we're excited to get everyone's photos on the Facebook to see all the walking happening anywhere. I hope that answers the questions, and thanks for thinking of us and SuperLevi!
We too had never heard of Batten Disease. So many little ones out there in need of a therapy pup. We hope this event was a success.

What a great cause! We hope that as more people become aware of this disease that the turnout improves and the Event grows. Momma knows how hard it is to get people to come and support a cause--even a great one--don't give up and keep spreading the word. Every step is progress, big or small.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent cause, well done my friends.
ReplyDeletelooks like you had another amazing day out, and helping the charity too, what could be batter! You're looking good too Bokeh! Dex and Lou xxx
ReplyDeletePS Should say what could be bEtter!!
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely a great event for a great cause. You did very well with your pawrents, Sagira!
