My brother

It is with a very heavy heart that my family has decided that it is my brother Samick's time. He was diagnosed with a mass in his urinary bladder in April 2010. The vet told us it is in a very tight spot where everything comes together. Mom and dad and the vet decided with Samick's age and other factors that they would just keep him comfortable. Samick made it over a year with this but it really starting to decline. He is skin and bones. We have been trying everything to get him to eat his food. We have tried other types of dog food, mixing in yogurt, tuna, chicken broth, hamburger and rice, anything they can think of. Samick acts like he is starving and will eat when you put something new in but then after a few days he stops again. Mom and dad have been trying to decide when is the time...they don't want to see him suffer but don't want to let him go too soon either. When mom came home from work yesterday she was given a clear sign, when Samick urinated there was a decent amount of blood in his urine. Mom also saw a few blood clots from the accidents he had while mom was at work. We think it is time...now trying to just pick up the phone and schedule the appointment is the hardest thing. Please keep our family in your thoughts as we try to do the right thing for my brother Samick.

    Oh Sagira we are so so sorry to hear that it is time for Samick to go to the bridge - we know that all your hearts must be breaking right now. But it is good that your mom and dad know that although it is hard for them it is the best decision for him - it is a selfless, loving thing, even though it is so hard. We are sending over lots and lots of purrs and prayers for all of you.

    Oh we are all so sorry here fur your family. But they are doing what is right so that he doesnt suffer anymore. OUr hearts go out to your family and you are certainly in our thoughts and prayers!!

    I am so sorry! My dad put his beagle down in May because she was really ancient and not doing so well. I loved her so much, just like she was my own dog. Just under 2 months later, we lost my dad. I like to think she helped my dad cross over to the other side. Loss is so hard!

    I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers and will also light a candle for Samick.

    Yes, Samick surely Knows that the grrrreatest of all LOVES is the Love that will allow a loved one to Move ON when the need to.

    I am being a strong shoulder for you to weep on from afar... I am a phone call or text away. I am teary and sad for you, but know in my heart that you have given Samick a long life of happiness and love. And he knows it too.
    I ma sure, he will be greeted by Blue at the Bridge and they together will wait for us... running pain free and young again!
