Peeps on Parade

Sarge is having a fun event this weekend called Peeps on Parade. You can stop by Sarge's page for more info and join in the fun.

So I have to introduce my peeps to you. We will start off with my dad.



Dad works for an insurance company to help keep a roof over our head. Dad enjoys several things. He isn't boring like my mom is. hehe. He is getting more into photography again and enjoys taking pictures of just about anything but he seems to have a special gift in taking photos of dogs. He also enjoy paintball, frisbee golf and dog sports with Bokeh and I. Dad is silly and likes to have fun. He isn't shy. Dad's favorite meal of the day is breakfast. He LOVES breakfast and can eat and eat.

Now we will move over to momster. Mom also works for an insurance company. Mom is pretty shy when you meet her in person but tries to be very caring. Mom volunteers a lot of her time to Louisville Weimaraner Rescue as their Relinquishment Coordinator. Mom also likes to grow her hair out and donate it to Locks of Love every 2 years.



Mom and dad have been married for 13 years this coming July.

Here is a photo of us together. This was from when I used to be a therapy dog. We were with a patient at the hospital we were visiting.

Friday Flashback

Going to continue on with Samick's puppy pictures. Here is another one of him being silly with his rope bone.

Yipee!

Just a quick update on Starr. She had her stomach x-ray and it came back clear. The vet didn't see anything on it. He also did additional blood work to check for pancreatitis again and that came back negative as well. So...diagnosis is that she just has an upset stomach. Mom also just found out that a lot of the other Weimaraners that were at Weim Nationals got sick tummies as well so maybe that is where she picked it up from. Either way...Starr has been checked and is now on some Pepcid AC to help with her upset stomach. She ate all of her dinner last night and was super excited to eat her breakfast. Mom is SO relieved. This was one expensive stomach ache.

Wordless Weimaraner Wednesday

Starr

So, Starr had a really restless day on Sunday. She vomited a few times, she wouldn't eat her dinner. Now...if you know Starr that statement alone is VERY scary. I don't think Starr has ever refused any kind of food and for her not to touch her food has mad my mom very scared. We placed a call to our doctor first thing Monday morning. He wants Starr to come in for a stomach x-ray to make sure he isn't missing anything or just not feeling something. So, please send good thoughts our way. My mom is a total mess right now. Starr is her first baby girl and she and Starr are VERY close. Dad took today off work to be able to take her to get her x-ray.

On other news...Bokeh went to doggy day care yesterday. The owner told dad that Bokeh has made good friends with a Collie. She told dad that Bokeh and the Collie played ALL day. I don't like going to day care and I'm a big girl and get to stay out of my crate so I get to hang at the house with Starr, Samick and Harley. :)

Starr scared mom

So...Starr has been losing weight recently, vomiting daily, and mom found a "lump" on her side. Mom was a nervous wreck putting all of these things together and scheduled an appointment with the vet. We took Starr in this past Thursday. Bokeh and I got to tag along because after the vet we met our friend Stacie and her 3 Border Collies at the park. Anyway...Starr weighed in at 75 pounds which is not good, she used to be close to 90 pounds (but she was overweight at that point). We told the doctor everything that she has been doing. He did a fine needle aspiration on her lump. It was determined that is just a fatty lump and nothing to worry about. The vet told us that looked bigger to us because she is losing weight and it will seem bigger when she doesn't have as much fat around the area (that makes sense). Then he also wanted to do some blood work on her to see if there was a reason for the weight loss and vomiting bile up each day. The doctor called us back and told us her blood work was fine. One of her liver enzymes is a bit elevated but it was up the last time her blood work was drawn. He told us signs and symptoms to watch for in her that are related to that enzyme. So...we are still a bit worried about her today because she has vomited twice now, she didn't want to eat all of her food (which if you know Starr, that alone is very scary, she LOVES her food). So we are calling the doctor back tomorrow and asking him about what to do with the vomiting and weight loss issues since he didn't really address that in his message to us about the blood work. So please keep Starr in your thoughts. Starr is mom's girl and her heart dog and is super attached to her Weimer.

Bokeh is 34 weeks old
