Get your puppy fix

Last weekend we met some of Bokeh's family. We met Bokeh's Grandpa (will post those pics later) and some of the new puppies his breeder had (this is actually the litter we were supposed to get a puppy from but Bokeh came along sooner)

Bokeh is 43 weeks old

So we met with Bokeh's breeder last weekend at the disc dog event. She loves Bokeh but is sad that he is so tall. I don't think they are going to use Bokeh for their breeding program because he is just too tall. Angie (breeder) calls Bokeh her Jolly Blue Giant. He is so sweet and has the best personality but just too big. She measured him with a wicket and he came in at 20.5". Breed standard for a mini Aussie is 18" for males. His dad is 19 and 3/4" and has won many awards but I guess going over 20 is to tall so no Bokeh puppies for us. She said structurally he is awesome just grew too much. We are kind of sad about it but also okay with it. There are enough puppies in the world. We are just waiting to hear the final word so we can take him in for his big boy surgery.

Five Sibes Award

Our pals Five Sibes had an awesome July 4th Patriotic Pets on Parade post. If you are not friends with them you should stop over and check it out.

The judges selected me as the winner of the most Patriotic Red, White and Blue (eyes) award. Five Sibes sent me a super cool certificate, ribbon and a tug toy.

Weimaraner Wednesday

Bokeh has his own frisbee!

We met Bokeh's breeder this past weekend. I guess something that they do is they have a special Frisbee made for each of their frisbee dogs. Guess who made it to the frisbee on the last production? Our very own Bokeh! His name is on the left hand side right by his dad's name (Chase).

Skyhoundz Event

Saturday we all got packed up in the car and headed to New Castle, IN. Bokeh had another disc dog competition. This one was extra exciting because we finally got to meet Bokeh's breeders Angie and Bill in person (we will tell you more about that later). They were super nice and loved how well Bokeh was doing. Matt and Bazooka was there as well as Sharon and Bling (Bokeh's cousins).

Bokeh did amazing again. It was SO hot out, over 100 with the heat index so we were not expecting to much. We tried to keep everyone as cool as possible with generators running fans for the dogs, hoses, etc. I got pretty hot by the end of the day and they had to stick me in the car with the ac running. Mom said I really scared her. :(

This is his toss and fetch round. He placed 12th out of 16, not his strong point



This is his second round of freestyle after being there ALL day in the heat and after waiting a storm out. This was done around the 8 pm hour. He did awesome.



Bokeh came home with a new award. He got 2nd place again in Novice Freestyle

Bokeh is 42 weeks old

Well, again not really he is 43 weeks now but we are still a week behind. He will be 10 months old tomorrow. Can't believe we are almost to that year mark already. We need to have a big party for Bokeh (and me since mine is just a month behind his). :)
